Mike joined LSCV CPAs PC in 2017 and works throughout the year on various tax projects, corporate and personal returns. Mike also performs business valuations for various applications as outlined below.
Prior to joining the firm, Mike worked at Professional Accounting Services. Before that, he worked in mergers and acquisitions and was director of business valuation services for the Kansas City office of a national accounting firm. In this capacity, he performed valuations of small to large companies and assisted those companies in related transactions and financial reporting. In addition, he has participated in tracing misappropriated funds, calculating damages and developing financial reports for civil litigation. Mike is also a former Internal Revenue Service Agent.
Mike is an expert in the areas of business valuation, stock option valuation, litigation support and taxation. In the past 25 years, he has provided these services to public and privately held companies throughout the United States. His expertise has been sought after and utilized in valuation and investigation cases and he has provided his expertise on complex financial matters to attorneys, accountants, judges, and the FBI. His services are utilized for mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, ESOP transactions, buy/sell agreements, litigation, shareholder disputes, SEC disclosures, stock option pricing, and divorce. In addition, Mike has been selected to serve as a valuation expert in litigation cases and has been qualified in various court jurisdictions in Kansas and Missouri.
Mike is a 1987 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a major in accounting. Mike also holds a Master of Science degree in Taxation from DePaul University.
